Attorney Nicola Prall

Raleigh immigration lawyer Nicola A.L. Prall was born in Brazil to an English father and a Chinese-Malaysian mother. She lived in Brazil, Hong Kong, and England before moving to the United States with her family. Attorney Prall graduated magna cum laude from Case Western Reserve University with a BA in Political Science and International Studies.

Attorney Prall focuses her practice on Employment Based immigration law. This includes assisting Employers with a foreign national workforce. Attorney Prall can assist employers ensure that workers maintain proper work permission. In this environment of increased enforcement, it is important for Employers to maintain proper work authorization documentation for employees.

Foreign nationals wishing to work or invest in the United States can also call Attorney Prall for advice regarding the proper procedures for obtaining work permission, maintaining that status, and properly planning for eventual legal permanent residence and naturalization.

As an undergraduate, Attorney Prall studied European Union politics, minority issues, environmental policy and citizenship issues at Copenhagen University in Denmark. She received her JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law. While attending law school Attorney Prall served as Vice President of the Student Public Interest Law Foundation and as Articles Editor for the College's flagship journal, the Kentucky Law Journal. Attorney Prall is a member of the Kentucky and North Carolina Bar Associations. Prior to Prall & Cole, PLLC, Attorney Prall owned Prall Immigration Law Firm and was an associate for an immigration law firm in Greensboro, NC. She is fluent in Spanish and advanced in Portuguese. Attorney Prall exclusively practices US Immigration and Nationality law.

Attorney Prall is also active in the Carolinas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Wake Women Attorneys, and in various community groups in the Triangle area.

Sharon K. Cole is an attorney who practices exclusively in the area of US Immigration and Nationality law. Within this field, her primary areas of practice include removal defense litigation, family-based immigration cases, and naturalization. As part of her removal defense practice, Attorney Cole travels frequently to Atlanta to represent clients in Immigration Court. She also accepts family-based immigration cases which require Applications for Waiver and/or which must be processed at U.S. Embassies abroad.

Attorney Cole is experienced with asylum and other special protected status, including Temporary Protected Status, protected status for battered immigrants and other special immigrants, and provisional visa status for victims of violent crimes and human trafficking.

Attorney Cole became a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the Wake County Bar Association in 1997, and she was also a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar from 1999 to 2005. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA), and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers (NCATL). In 2006-2007, she served as the Chair of the NCATL’s Hispanic and Latino Issues Division and as Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Carolinas AILA Chapter. Attorney Cole was accepted to and successfully completed AILA’s Litigation Institute in 2005. She is a past Chair of the Law Practice Management and Small Office Practice Sections of both the NCBA and the NCATL. Attorney Cole serves as Chair of the Womens’ Caucus for the NCATL and is an active member of the NCBA’s Immigration Law Committee.

Prior to becoming a partner at the law firm of Prall & Cole, PC, Attorney Cole worked as an immigration attorney for Hardison & Leone, PLLC and the North Carolina Justice Center. Attorney Cole graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in English from Wingate University, and she received her J.D. from Campbell University in 1997 where she served as Editor in Chief of the Campbell Law Observer. She is married and lives with her husband in Raleigh, NC.
